I can’t talk specifics, but I can tell you this: one of the most popular Mac web sites will be releasing a couple of totally awesome pieces of software that will make OS X that much sweeter (did I just type “totally awesome”?!?). I’ve had the honor of beta testing these two jewels and I can’t tell you how much I enjoy them — and I guarantee you will, too!

Your Favorite New CandyBar!
I dropped a hint in Monday’s news post when I announced my Apple Hardware Icons: “you may find [them] useful in the very near future!”
What was I referring to? A new icon utility from the Iconfactory and Panic, Inc., and how you’ll be able to change your toolbar’s “Computer” icon with a fancy new icon of your choice. Sure, there are already a few toolbar icon changers available — but all of them pale in comparison to CandyBar 1.0! From the press release…
“CandyBar is an easy, safe, and surprisingly fun way to customize many MacOS X icons, including the toolbar, folders, media and the trash can. CandyBar brings together clever engineering and gorgeous icons to make customizing your Mac deliciously easy.
“CandyBar transforms the MacOS X user experience through a simple drag and drop interface, which is logically grouped into icon categories. By dragging icons into and out of icon wells, users can replace or restore the default MacOS X system icons quickly and easily.”
Trust me, you will LOVE this program — and since it came from Panic and the Iconfactory, you know it’s rock-solid. Head over to the Iconfactory and get the full details on this jewel!
