Apple's Jobs appears at Intel event
Edward F Moltzen, 7-Apr-2003 His appearance at internal sales conference reignites rumors of collaboration
Several weeks ago at an Intel internal sales conference, two industry giants walked onto the same stage.
One was Intel's co-founder and chairman, Andrew Grove. The other was a friend of Grove's but someone whose company has not done much business with Intel: Apple Chairman and CEO Steve Jobs.
Jobs appeared at the Intel employee event at the request of his longtime friend, sources said. While he was there, he offered some industry insights in addition to a pep talk of sorts. But as word of his appearance leaked out, it renewed old rumors that Apple would consider building systems based on Intel's processors, either its Pentium or Itanium line.
