Visst skall den väl låta något när den spinner upp och vibrera lite med. Seagate skriver såhär på sin support-sida för felsökning av deras diskar:
"A spinning drive produces a whining sound that is generally audible to the human ear, though you may have to listen very carefully to hear it. This sound is most noticeable as the drive first begins to spin, so listen for it when first turning on the power.
If you are unable to hear the drive spinning, you may be able to feel it vibrating."

Sedan skall väl disken sitta förankrad på ett sådant sett den ej sitter och vibrerar utan har en statisk fästpunkt som tar upp krafterna när den spinner upp.
De flesta av Seagates Barracuda 7200.7 diskar ligger väl på ca. 25dB i Idle, men när de spinner upp ordentligt så är det väl närmare 30dB om jag inte missminner. Spring iväg och låna en dB-meter på nån ackustisk firma ;-).
